Easter Day

When the boys came downstairs to find their Easter baskets they found that jelly beans had been hidden all over the "family home evening" room. Charlie scored the most and was definitely the fastest at shoving them in his mouth.

The Easter bunny brought sidewalk chalk, books, and punch balloons (along with a few candy filled eggs).
The boys searched high and low for Easter eggs in the back yard.
They made out with quite a hefty loot.
The night before Easter we made empty tomb cookies. After we put them onto the tray we put them in the oven and "sealed" the tomb with blue painting tape. On Sunday we opened the tomb and took a bite of our cookie which were hollow (sort of) just like the empty tomb.

This morning we ate peaches, plums, milk, blueberry bread, and... EASTER EGGS! Mmm!

No surprise! Britt pulling out her creativeness. You're such an awesome mom Britt for going all out and having fun with your kids. Great idea on the cookies, it helps tie in the treats to Christ.

Our older kids spent Easter with their dad, and it was sad when they came back and the 5 yr old thought it was all about candy and didn't learn anything about the true meaning of Easter.

Yeah, I'd like to see those Empty Tomb cookies, too. Maybe just a picture, though - I'm probably not ambitious enough to actually make them. :-)

Love the jelly bean hunt!! So fun.

I really want your recipe for blueberry bread! And does Trav still make banana chocolate chip cookies? I would love that one too!
