Our friend Dixie treats us right. We had her over for dinner and she offered to make dessert. She saved us from more of the same ol' thing...brownies from an Aldi brownie mix. Although these brownies are our favorite there was something a little more special about the strawberries fanned out across the top of this poke cake.

The other day I heard a "knock, knock" on the back sliding glass door. When I opened it I found standing before me Prince Charming Jr. with not just a glass of water, but a beautiful boquet of flowers. Isn't he dreamy?

Role Play

Charlie likes penguins. I don't really know why. He has a penguin shirt, we have a book or two about penguins, he recently convinced one of his nursery teachers at church to draw him a penguin. This photo is supposed to be proof of his obsession. When I asked him what he was doing with his knees in his shirt he said, "I'm a penguin, " as he waddled around on the kitchen floor. But somehow, as he was waddling away from me I couldn't help but think...Baboon...

Pets

Who needs a dog? We've got a Burke. He grinds his teeth on any wood he can get his mouth on.

STUCK

Every Monday night we have Family Home Evening. We make a weekly game plan, discuss family business, have dessert, sing songs, play games,and learn about something important (the gospel of Jesus Christ, safety, manners etc.).

Tonight when I opened the meeting I told the boys that I was glad they could all be there and said, "We would like to excuse dad. He is stuck at the hospital." Then I went on with the meeting.

A little while later Travis called to say goodnight to the boys. When it was Charlie's turn he put the phone up to his ear and said, "Hi dad! You are stuck. You need help." As Isaac and Theron love to tell everyone..."It was just a figure of speech!!"
