I was playing puzzles with Charlie and Burke on the floor. Burke was sitting on my lap when he decided to throw a little tantrum. He threw his head back and hit it on my lip. Under my breath I said, "I'm probably going to have a fat lip." To which Charlie replied, "Mom, fat lips happen."
I put this in the same pool of stories with my visit to the general surgeon. We all decided it would be better to have surgery after Burke was born rather than while I was pregnant with him. When I asked what I should do in the mean time the Surgeon said, "I could give you a big shot of buck up." I give my kids a dose every once in a while just for kicks.

Hey Brit! This is Kristen....Pat and Cheryl's daughter and Patrick's big Sis....I am so happy I found your guys blog! You all meant sooo much to my family through Travis' residency! You all will truly be missed! Me and the fam can't wait to keep up on your blog to see how the boys are growing! I'm sure its crazy for you...but believe me when I say its crazy for all of us too to see how you and your family have all grown in such a short time! We wish you the very best in Boston for Travis' fellowship and I'm sure we will all be in touch soon enough somehow!!
Kristen-
You and your family meant a lot to our crew, too! We would love to keep in touch with you so keep dropping in on us! I'll make sure your mom always knows how to track us down. We want to know how things are going for you too.
Britt
What a darling picture! Your kids are getting too big! I love the funny things they say. I love that you have a video of them sliding down a matress and jumping around and having fun. I need to let my kids do more stuff like that but my husband doesn't like it. Maybe he needs to work on Saturday for a few hours. :)
OH, and I finally scrolled down to see your family picture on the bottom of your blog. I love it!! Where are you guys living now? We just moved to Missouri.
Hey Britt!
Just saw your message! Showed Patrick pics today of the boys...He is already saying how much he misses you guys! Patrick is having more back trouble again(on the right side now)so in the a.m he is seeing a pain specialist doctor to give him an epidural. His first game is tomorrow night....we are all hoping he will be able to make it through his senior season! Him and my mom both said they wish that you and Travis were still here for advice! I will keep you all posted on how things go...my mom is a little computer "challenged" I would say! If you are on facebook you should look me or Patrick up....if not I will frequent your page and keep you all posted! Again best wishes in Boston! Maybe we will have to plan a visit to check you all out once you're settled in! Take care!!
What a funny blog you have! I found it through Trinette's! I am so sad we didn't get to go to the Mars for your little farwell party. We had something come up.:( We miss you guys here but home that you're doing good.
I love all the little quotes you have of your boys along the side of your blog.
Hello my lovely. I tried calling you...number disconnected. I sent you an email on facebook...no reply. Are you alive? Could ya please let me know if you're alive? Lots o' love! Meshan
Britt-I miss you. I can't wait to see how potty training Burke goes. I will just chuckle now as it has been a long 6 months trying with Madison and we are still not there. I try to remind myself that there has to be a reason why my kids are so stubborn-it is going to prove them to be a great skill when they get older!
